At the end of their first missionary journey, instead of taking a short and direct route back to the church in Antioch that sent them, Paul and Barnabas took a long and dangerous route through the cities that had persecuted them. The reason was that they care for the believers there and were going back to strengthen them and to appoint elders in these newly established churches.
